Delta~dB offers a very cost effective solution to sound damping problems in a flexible monolithic coating format. Our unique chemistry and well proven Dispersion 2™ technology gives the best in sound damping abilities in an easily applied spray, brush or roll format. Delta~dB can also be applied quickly without cutting or taping bulky type materials and having to glue and pin to surfaces. Its direct adhesion to the surface with its high grade resin system provides "no worry" attachment for years to come. Marine
Applications: Delta~dB
Sound Dampening can be applied direct to aluminum, Transportation
Applications: Other Applications:
Delta~dB can also be used on industrial and other Sound Testing: Delta~dB was tested to show the performance of the coating vs a non coated surface. The test was performed on a simple school bells. Since a school bell generates a lot of sound transfer from a little source, the result of a coated bell would show the differential easily. Both bells were setup in a test that exposed 10 lbs of force to ring the bell on a weighted arm. The microphone was attached in an identical place 1.5" from the bell source. The non coated bell wieghed 105 grams and the coated version weighed 120 grams. Temperature for the test was 72 Deg F. Delta~dB was applied with a Small Application sprayer in two coats with approx 4 hours dry time in between coats. The coating was allowed to cure for 7 days. The following graphs show the noncoated version of the bell vs. the coated bell. The relationship of the graph is decibels (dB) on the "Y" axes - vertical area) and time of the vibration or sound on the "X" axes (horizontal area).
